We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Product Management Director on our Publishing team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.
This
role is responsible for the business operations for the JAMA Career Center and
audience engagement strategy for physician-centric products. This role serves
as the audience expert in physician recruitment, ensuring all physician focused
products are effectively positioned to meet revenue and engagement objectives.
This role will oversee business performance and ensure alignment with industry's
best practices and AMA's financial and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight of JAMA Career Center & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the business strategy for the JAMA Career Center as a premier physician recruitment platform.
- This includes product development, pricing and technology support for internal and external users.
- Own the 2M P&L and define the growth model for platform as a distinct business unit within the JAMA Network.
- Oversee the continuous improvement and operational efficiency of the JAMA Career Center, ensuring collaboration across AMA departments for new digital product development and email distribution.
Business Growth & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth. Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, vendor partners, customers and other AMA departments to ensure seamless collaboration and business alignment.
- Serve as an industry expert in physician recruitment. Provide marketplace insights and maintain high visibility with key clients, agencies and associations.
- Visit customers and attend conferences to support sales team in business development.
- Provide expert guidance to sales staff, ensuring revenue targets are met and that products are effectively aligned with broader business objectives.
- Collaborate with the VP of Publishing Revenue and Director of Advertising to drive optimal sales outcomes.
External Audience Engagement
- Oversee engagement initiatives regarding recruitment tools, including social media strategy, email marketing (Fit Finder) and sponsorships, ensuring effective promotion of JAMA's recruitment tools and services.
- Responsible for monitoring the external market demands of physician use-cases for platform needs and desires.
- Manage the platform needs and relationships with external vendors or developers to ensure the career center facilitates or improves the audience expectations.
- Remain current on external government policy laws set in place for recruitment tools to ensure all legal updates are met.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required; preferred in marketing or communications major
- 10+ years of product development experience with a focus on physician recruitment
- Strong
communication skills with ability to navigate complex relationships across
sales team need in both internal and external demands. - Proven experience
on the development and implementation of product roadmaps. - Able to create a
cohesive working partnership between self and each rep professionally with
team-based encouraging attitude. - Able to build
relationships at all levels within internal departments and external
relationships within the different levels of a health system or recruitment
organization. - Required to excel
at supporting complex team structures, efficient time management, and
organizational skills as a top priority. - Project management
skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and
demonstrated ability to excel in organization, writing skills and identifying
areas for process improvements. - Proven ability to
work with digital systems and social networks in addition to being highly
competent in Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and other system-based
CRM/Reporting systems. - Some travel required.
This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $136,680 - $184,620. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
