CNC Machine Operator High School Intern (Walpole) (U.S. Students)

Activities in which you will be involved include:
* Perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks in machining and or welding and finishing under the supervision of a highly skilled operator.
* Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies in order to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets.
* Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.
* Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements in order to satisfy customer needs.
* Contribute to achievements of cell performance targets.
* Recognize and perform asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard.
* Resolve conflicts within the team in the spirit of teamwork in order to ensure high standards of professionalism.

As a high school senior, you'll have the opportunity to work part-time in Computer Numerical Control Machining before graduating from high School.

Upon successful completion of this internship, you may have the opportunity to enter a Registered Apprentice position. In our Registered Apprenticeship program in Computer Numerical Control Machining, Apprentices work in paid, full-time positions and attend school part-time with tuition paid by Rolls-Royce.

What you'll need

Basic qualifications:
* Incoming/current high school senior
* Must be enrolled in (or have completed) manufacturing technology course work specific to machining

Preferred qualifications:
* Basic understanding of product manufacturing
* Experience or education in Turning/Milling/Grinding equipment or in CNC machining.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Basic personal computer proficiency (word processing, internet, e-mail, electronic data retrieval)
