Job Title: Senior Product Manager

Remote: This job may be performed in any state in the U.S.

As Senior Product Manager on the Professional Services team, you will be supporting the fastest-growing segment of HMH's professional learning business: the subscription-based coaching portfolio. You will monitor the K-12 education market landscape, leverage findings to inform the business plan, identify innovative ways to engage and energize teachers as learners in increasingly high-tech schools, build-measure-learn the professional learning product vision that supports teachers using HMH's teaching and learning solutions, and implement an effective go-to-market plan across all stakeholder teams. The ideal product leader will maintain constant focus on solution-market fit, have experience working agilely and collaboratively across cross-functional groups, and be an articulate champion for the product.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Planning and Product Development

  • Support the overall planning and competitive marketing strategy for assigned products and solutions to meet revenue and profit goals.
  • Support ongoing market research activities for assigned programs and develop deep customer insights and identify market needs to be solved in new program solutions.
  • Support product strategy and growth initiatives per assigned discipline/product area
  • Monitor, report, and respond to competitive intelligence
  • Analyze and interpret market data and trends, provide recommendations to teams based on that analysis

Product Life Cycle Management

  • Monitor revenue and financial performance of assigned products and maintain regular updates for Director and Leadership
  • Analyze and evaluate market performance and product positioning of an assigned product
  • Benchmark performance of an assigned product against competition and market; implement offering model and pricing plans in line with product strategy
  • Implement tasks in the product launch and sunset process
  • Implement product maintenance plans and manage the phases and gates in the product life cycle

Marketing Strategy

  • Work with Product Marketing on go-to-market strategy for new product or solution.
  • Partner with Director to identify product positioning strategies. Partner with Product Marketing and Sales to ensure proper competitive positioning for product or solution.

Product Evangelist

  • Serve as product expert across the HMH organization
  • Provide support for the sales and services enablement process
  • Assist with key customers

Communication

  • Maintain strong, ongoing channels of communication with sales force and other cross-functional groups.

What You'll Need

  • BS/BA in related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of related industry or functional experience to include 2+ years full time product management or related business management exp.
  • Knowledge of the K-12 Education Market
  • SaaS product management expertise
  • Agile development experience
  • Proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet
  • Exceptionally strong communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized
  • Understanding of the Educational Sales Market

Nice to Have

  • MBA or Masters - preferably in the education or in business management or marketing
  • HMH Product knowledge
  • Pragmatic Framework certified

Physical Requirements

  • Travel-up to 10%
  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing) for 4+ hours.
  • Constantly operates a computer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.

Salary:$95K - $100K (bonus eligible)
