What you'll do

As a Director of Employee and Executive Communications, you'll be responsible for leading the communications practice for Docusign's Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, you'll be responsible for building a best-in-class employee communications function to support Docusign's Sales and Partnerships team, including end-to-end ownership and execution of the content for the annual Sales Kick-Off. You will also manage executive communications for Docusign's Chief Revenue Officer, including the development, vetting, and execution of proactive strategies for media interviews, speaking opportunities, executive social media presence and other thought leadership content that advance Docusign's business goals.

You will manage, develop and execute on an employee communications strategy for the Sales and Partnerships organization to generate excitement and drive strategic alignment for Docusign's next chapter as the Intelligent Agreement Management company. You'll manage communications that help keep those groups informed, manage in partnership with marketing and customer success counterparts and customer communications, and contribute to the wider communications team. As part of this work, you will work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders to drive and execute communications for the go-to-market team.

In this role, you'll work closely with business partners and members of our executive team to determine business goals and derive communications goals, strategy and tactics both company-wide, and for the Sales and Partnerships organizations. You'll be an active member of the global Communications team, sharing back strategic insight and needs from the Sales and Partnerships business.

This role requires a communications professional who loves to dig into all aspects of the work. You'll need to be able to seek out information to support business goals, distill what you've found, create communications strategies, draft narratives and plans, and then execute. To succeed, you'll be proactive, organized, and able to thrive in a matrixed environment. You are creative, have top-notch writing skills, but you love a good edit. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Communications.

Responsibility

  • Be the driver of employee communications and executive communications efforts for the Docusign Sales and Partnerships team, meeting the bar set by the Global Communications team

  • Create employee communications strategies and execute on those plans for the Docusign Sales and Partnerships team

  • Manage and execute Sales and Partnerships-specific events, including the Global Sales Kick-Off

  • Create executive communications strategies for the Chief Revenue Officer that support Docusign business goals and stakeholder interests, including preliminary spokesperson evaluation, media landscape survey and peer executive evaluations, and execute on media, speaking and thought leadership plans in coordination with the broader Corporate Communications team

  • Plan, develop and execute regular thought leadership material on behalf of the Chief Revenue Officer, including via LinkedIn and appropriate social channels, speaking opportunities, media engagement and other channels

  • Manage regular internal communications channels and events including Sales and Partnerships town halls, announcement Slack channels and more

  • Provide strategic counsel to the Chief Revenue Officer to ensure our Sales and Partnerships teams have the information they need to execute on our business goals

  • Be an expert in leveraging internal communications tactics to foster community, drive engagement, and help business units achieve business goals

  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to execute proactive and reactive internal communications programs that strengthen Docusign's community and help our employees do their best work

  • Devise necessary communications narratives, campaigns, and materials

  • Manage relevant go-to-market communications colleagues and processes


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 12+ years of communications experience at major corporations
  • 8+ years helping drive employee communications
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent

Preferred

  • Experience at public companies
  • Experience working with global teams in technology or enterprise settings
  • Excellent cross-functional communication experience; proven experience thriving in a matrixed environment
  • Strong ability to advocate and influence at any level: from executives to peers to working teams
  • Strong management experience
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to draft narratives and messaging that differentiates companies
  • Flexibility and a bias to action
  • An excitement to dig into the work personally, as this is a lean and nimble team
  • High emotional intelligence
  • A sense of humor

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $122,300.00 - $190,650.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
