Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven individual to lead the US region's strategic forecasting function. The Senior Director, Commercial Forecasting, will be responsible for overseeing the strategic & demand forecasting process, driving accuracy in commercial forecasts, and providing actionable insights to guide business decisions including growth opportunities. This role requires strong leadership skills including partnership, influence, communication and negotiation in combination with robust US pharmaceutical commercial and financial acumen and expertise in forecasting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Focus: Key leadership role partnering across the local and global enterprise, including commercial, insights, finance and supply teams to drive growth opportunities through actionable strategic levers based on in-depth understanding of therapeutic area critical patient and customer segments, competitive landscape and macro-economic and policy changes. Support enterprise mindset to drive leadership trade-off decisions and evolve operational models across portfolios based on strong evidence and analytics.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Develop, implement, and manage forecasting models to predict demand across multiple therapy areas including Specialty, Oncology, Vaccines and General Medicine for marketed products across the short-term horizon and in support of long-range planning. In addition, develop US Forecasts for priority organic and inorganic pipeline assets across business units and present strong viewpoint on opportunity to US leadership in support of asset development stage gate decisions.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of forecasting professionals to build and execute a robust demand planning process. Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methods and tools to enhance strategic market understanding and opportunities, accuracy, and efficiency. Align and partner as a member of the US Commercial Finance Leadership Team and the Insights and Analytics Leadership Team, in steering the functions for capability and performance leadership.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Marketing, Insights & Analytics, Finance, Market Access, Sales, and Supply across local and global functions to build and document robust assumptions needed to inform forecasts and pressure test scenarios for marketed products and pipeline assets. Leverage knowledge to inform strategic, operational, and financial plans.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: In partnership with Insights and Analytics and Finance, address key business questions analyzing historical sales data, market trends, customer behavior, and external factors to refine demand forecasts and provide actionable insights to guide business decisions. Ensure forecasts built on robust assumptions including patient and market landscape, product profile, competitive landscape and strategic growth opportunities generated based on primary and secondary market research and analogs.
  • Reporting & Communication: Regular touchpoints with senior leadership, highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities related to demand forecasts. Ensure clear communication of forecasting outcomes to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Technology & Systems: Leverage forecasting software and ERP systems to optimize demand planning. Stay current with emerging technologies and tools to enhance forecasting capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, full-time employment, of which the most recent in pharmaceuticals or in leading global management consulting firm, with focus on Forecasting
  • Experience in demand forecasting methodologies (including patient and projection-based modeling), advanced analytics, and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Experience in demand forecasting tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), data analysis software and presentation programs (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft ThinkCell etc).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with machine learning or AI-driven forecasting tools and GenAI tools driving productivity and creativity.
  • Knowledge and experience with GSK U.S. Pharma's therapeutic areas of commercialization (particularly Respiratory), Specialty (Immunology, Oncology) and Vaccines
  • Proven and advanced collaboration skills, and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to lead through change and inspire agility/flexibility amongst team
  • Experience fostering personal development of direct reports
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and without formal authority and confidently defend informed recommendations.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving alignment on complex business initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
