Overview / Job Summary:

Faculty members in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program are responsible for providing instruction and oversight of students in classroom and practical settings. The Faculty will develop course materials, implement innovative teaching strategies, and ensure that students meet required competencies essential for a career in emergency medical services.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and delivering engaging and effective instructional lessons consistent with program standards.
  • Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Developing and updating curriculum materials as needed to reflect current EMS protocols and standards.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student involvement.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and performance.
  • Participating in program review and assessment processes to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Follow all regulation guidelines in KAR 109-17 for teaching EMS courses in the state of Kansas.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current EMT/Paramedic certification, required.
  • Must have minimum of 1-year full time EMT/Parademic experience
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
