The salary range for this role, based in Fort Smith is $81,040.00 to $101,300.00. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Purpose of the Position

To provide strong and clear strategic regulatory leadership for all North American innovations and NPDs. This role will leverage their technical experience to lead and coordinate regulatory approvals, TTB formula and SETR submissions for new product development consistent with the Business Unit strategy. They will provide regulatory leadership for liquid and packaging in all phases of development - including feasibility assessments during early exploration, from benchtop through product trials and commercialization readiness through market launch and expansion. Ensure consumer-facing products have met all compliance requirements, in a timely manner based on target launch dates.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Lead, direct and drive coordination and preparation of technical and internal compliance documents and support for regulatory submissions to TTB, LCBO, SAQ and international markets.
  • Partner with Global Innovation, Corby and PR USA stakeholders (legal, ops, marketing, etc.) to align on regulatory strategy in order to fulfil business objectives.
  • Provide regulatory compliance support for NADL and Corby brands on labeling, manufacturing, marketing, and testing protocols.
  • Evaluate and provide the regulatory compliance assessment for raw materials and finished products according to TTB and other U.S., Canadian or international regulations.
  • Collaborate with the internal R&D/development teams, flavor houses, raw material vendors, co-manufacturers, internal brand co. regulatory and operations teams to ensure liquid and labeling compliance (e.g., GRAS) for the U.S, Canada and export markets.
  • Build a strong network and liaise with TTB, the internal global regulatory teams, legal, Brand Companies, and global Innovation to enable the regulatory affairs compliance support of new Pernod Ricard products sold in and exported from the US and Canada.
  • Support labeling and claims assessment as per TTB, Pernod Ricard, Health Canada and Canadian liquor board guidelines in co-operation with Marketing, Legal and R&D.
  • Maintain current regulatory knowledge of Pernod Ricard, U.S., Canadian and key strategic international market regulations, guidelines, and standards.
  • Lead, direct and drive coordination and preparation of technical and internal compliance documents and support for regulatory submissions to TTB, LCBO and SAQ and international markets.
  • Monitor developments of food, alcohol and other relevant regulations as well as industry and company codes in the US, Canada, the EU as well as other key markets.
  • Establish good working relations with regulatory, technical and legal expertise in other parts of the Pernod Ricard organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Understands the operational and technical landscape and can develop/implement a strategy to manage regulatory risk to position the organization for growth.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory compliance reports and/or documents from external third-party experts and suppliers.
  • Ability to assist in scoping and facilitating business opportunities.
  • Translate research findings into substantial business opportunities and communicate to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand and ensure product quality and food safety requirements are defined and delivered through the completion of raw material, finished product and quality specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products.
  • Run regulatory timelines, provide clear and timely communication, complete risk assessments, identify risk and concerns and develop contingency plans demonstrating strong project management skills.
  • Ability to use digital tools to review and document regulatory compliance.
  • Support the implementation of new legislation in relevant products.

Required Leadership Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science/Technology, Nutrition, or related science degree.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Alcohol or CPG company in Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance with a focus on TTB, FDA and/or USDA food regulations preferred; ability to understand and comply with government requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on key projects.
  • Knowledge of the commercialization requirements- ability to identify risks and develop creative solutions to deliver end results.
  • Ability to pro-actively develop strong internal network with key partners/stakeholders across the organization and tailor complex technical information into clear/relevant messages for all audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze, trouble-shoot, take initiative, set priorities, drive initiatives forward and look for opportunities to increase speed and agility.
  • Eager to learn and take on challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
