The Retail Field Trainer will report to the Director of Training and facilitate training and support that guides the learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies effectively and appealingly across all the Tempur-Pedic Flagship Retail Stores. The Specialist will ensure proper delivery of required training to ensure consistency in and adherence to sales processes, delivery of quality in-store customer experiences, and to provide managers and associates with the knowledge of the skills required to meet store, regional, and TRS (Tempur Retail Stores) objectives. This position will develop relationships with all departments within the company, specifically TRS field management, to coordinate and ensure consistency of information and training to confirm operational effectiveness and maximize long-term store performance.

Salary Range: $65,000- $90,000 PLUS Annual Incentive Potential

What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):



  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify learner and company needs.
  • Develop objectives around the provided content and ensure the training materials match those objectives.
  • Drive sales and profit growth through the training of best practices in the areas of sales goals and customer service.
  • Motivate, inspire, and engage the frontline managers and sales associates while developing their service-based sales abilities.
  • Coordinate and deliver virtual and in-person instructor-led training (one-on-one and small/large group) for all company initiatives to retail teams.
  • Use Adult Learning principles to review, revise, and develop new and existing training materials for coworker development and performance.
  • Monitor and improve sales team performance by refining processes and training.
  • Prepare and present on-site 'new store opening' training sessions.
  • Analyze sales and performance data to partner with Regional Directors on executing training and development needs.
  • Lead and mentor Manager in Training program (TRSU) candidates, as well as develop & and maintain TRSU content.
  • Manage and coordinate annual Manager Meetings and TRS company training & and development events.
  • Assist Regional Directors with in-store training of staff and provide store coverage when applicable (development, short staff, etc.)
  • Partner with Regional Directors for post-new store opening follow-up within 90 days of initial training.
  • Work closely with IT development team to ensure all retail system interfaces are functioning as designed and provide testing if needed.
  • Assist in Local Marketing events, especially selling events, if applicable.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Need (Qualifications):



  • 5+ years of training experience supporting retail environment or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.), 3-5 years in training development, instructional design, and facilitation (in person or online); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented individual with a keen sense of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a team environment but also work effectively as an individual.
  • Competency in adult learning and training principles.
  • Advanced Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • High energy, experience in instruction, with a proven ability to engage with, lead, and motivate others working across the organization for alignment and execution of goals.
  • Representation and embodiment of the company's core values, with a passion for sales and outstanding customer service.
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to collaborate and be team-oriented with a keen sense of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage, lead, and motivate employees.
  • Understanding and ability to apply adult learning theories and effective L&D methods.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced level of skill with Microsoft Office
  • Up to 75% travel
