Description and Requirements

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, management, and optimization of the OEM team's hardware product portfolio. This role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful launch and lifecycle management of hardware products. The successful Portfolio Manager candidate will work closely with engineering, marketing, sales teams, and partners to drive product success and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Develop and manage the hardware product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy and market demands.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Use insights to inform product strategy and decision-making.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define product requirements, specifications, and roadmaps. Ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life. Implement strategies for product updates, enhancements, and discontinuations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and partners to develop go-to-market strategies, promotional plans, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and manage the financial performance of the hardware portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Customer Focus: Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products and address customer needs. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development, market entry, and competitive pressures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in hardware product management or portfolio management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency in project management and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with hardware development processes and technologies.
  • Previous people management experience

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the technology or electronics industry.
  • Understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Candidates that are already local to Raleigh, NC are preferred.
