Position Summary

  • Manages the overall repair operations of an assigned product category, Stainless Surgical Instruments, in Stow, OH.
  • Plans and executes budget, systems, people and processes for their product category.
  • Accountable for meeting product category goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Employee Engagement (SQDCE) and/or turnaround.
  • Coaches and develops team of 25-30 employees. Fosters a spirit of empowered work teams and unity among department members to effectively identify and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Partners with Customer Care, Sales Teams, and Product Managers to effectively respond to Customer's questions or technical concerns that may arise within an account.
  • Works collaboratively with other internal areas on new product development, enhancements to existing product and new Customer requirements. In physical locations, typically directs and manages single department/supervisor in their product category.
  • Supports and Implements Lean efforts.

As a Manager of Repair Operations you will:

  • Plans and executes repair operations, people, systems, and processes to meet Operations goals and objectives.
  • May directand manage a single department/supervisor and team members in the achievement of Key Performance Indicators such as Turn Around Time (TAT), Safety, Quality, Costs and Employee Engagement.Ensures accurate performance reporting.
  • Manages budget and budget execution with a focus on product repair costs, labor hours per unit, and margins.
  • Ensures capabilities, standards, and methodologies for repairs, are developed, maintained, and executed consistently.
  • Manages utilization of equipment, work area, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives.
  • Ensures resolution of technical, product, process, and quality failures.Designates required resources to resolve production difficulties and/or limitations.Strives to improve operational performance based on learnings.
  • Collaborates with inventory and purchasing teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels and components are maintained.
  • Assesses team's skills and ensures appropriate development plans.Makes sure individual team members understand career path.
  • Directs team training efforts to ensure supervisors, and technician team members are appropriated trained.
  • Collaborates in the identification of new product/repair capabilities through the monitoring of no-repair situations, outsourcing lab volumes, market trends and new technologies.
  • Works closely with other internal areas to drive product capability development and operational process standards.
  • Interviews potential new hires, and successfully on-boards to the company.Manages the team and seeks coaching opportunities.
  • Reviews and responds to field quality concerns and field service reports (FSR).
  • Supports and provides technical training for accounts and product managers in areas of expertise.
  • Delivers formal presentations for clinical management educational seminars and customer site visits.
  • Ensures conformance to ISO goals and objectives and supports ISO requirement.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree required and 5 years of leadership experience in a service organization
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree, must have aHS Diploma or GED and 13 years of experience in a service organization



Preferred:



  • Ability to lead and manage multiple responsibilities including multiple teams and priorities.
  • Strong Organizational skills
