The Compliance Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, standardization, and management of the Company's DOT/FMCSA Compliance Programs, including DOT Driver Qualification Files and Drug/Alcohol Programs, employment screening, etc.

Responsibilities of Position:




  • Policy Development: Drafting, reviewing, and updating company policies and procedures to reflect current regulations and best practices.



  • Compliance Training: Developing and delivering compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant regulations and company policies.



  • People Management: Hiring, training, managing and developing employees.



  • Customer Service: Handling customer inquiries and complaints and developing customer relationships.



  • Budgeting: Management of the compliance budget.



  • Oversee all Compliance/DOT Programs.



  • Oversee all employment screening.



  • Compliance Monitoring and Audits: conduct regular audits of driver qualification records to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.



  • Reporting: support with all reporting requirements internally and externally.



  • Acquisition: lead all acquisitions in area of expertise.



  • All other duties as assigned.





Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will manage 1 to 5 employees.



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Strong leadership and organization, with the ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to read, analyze and interpret regulations and other documents.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • Previous experience working in office environment; preferably in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State DOT, Health & Safety Regulations, including a working knowledge of the DOT Letters of Interpretation and other Regulatory Guidance.



Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:



  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10lbs.
  • Continuously sitting/standing/walking in office environment.



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
