Job Overview

The Sr. Search Specialist will work closely with the Director and multiple teams within the Marcom departments to implement and optimize our search strategy across both organic and paid.

The Sr. Search Specialist will oversee and support teams for all SEO activities such as keyword strategy, content structure and link building to increase organic search rankings and drive search traffic from Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. Also, the Sr. Search Specialist must have the ability to create and oversee paid ad campaigns while continually analyzing and optimizing for performance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Business.

EXPERIENCE - Five years of freelance/contractor/agency experience.

Strongly Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years creating and supporting SEO and SEM strategies.
  • Experience managing or overseeing PPC campaigns.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion and online customer acquisition.
  • Strong organizational skills and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with estimating level of effort to perform project and/or tasks.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Google Suite, Google Tools, and familiarity with all popular browsers.
  • Must enjoy working in diverse subject matter.
  • Good critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work well with others and exercise good judgement.

EQUIVALENCY - Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • The Sr. Search Specialist partners with other strategists, managers and directors to plan how search strategy and tactics fit into a project and meet the goals and objectives outlined by the project owners.
  • Participates and leads integrated search planning within the digital team and across marketing teams and stakeholders.

The Sr. Search Specialist executes or oversees with agency or team member support the following:

  • Perform ongoing keyword research including the discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities.
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for SEO.
  • Conduct research and implement content strategies for ongoing SEO success.
  • Recommend changes to the website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
  • Coordinate the efforts of internal and external resources in the execution of our paid media strategies, which include SEM, paid social and display.
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and track metrics on an ongoing basis using Google Analytics and Google Ads.
  • Work with some or all A/B split testing, heat maps, filters, funnels, etc.
  • Use SEO Management software, such as SEMRush, to gather intel and make recommendations for increased performance.
Other Information

In addition, the Sr. Search Specialist:

  • Manages own project workflow while coordinating with project teams and management on schedules, requirements, goals and assignments as needed.
  • Helps to ensure successful representation of CHCO brand across media, through knowledge of brand standards, design templates and systems architecture.
  • Performs essential functions while demonstrating all the Standards of Behavior.
  • Follows workflow processes from concept to publishing. Provides recommendations for improvement to Strategist and/or other leaders across Marcom.
  • Works across campaigns, channels and marketing initiatives to make recommendations to create and distribute Children's Colorado content aligned to organizational goals and user needs.
  • Evaluates search requests against goals and purpose and provide recommendations to modify, approvals or escalate to digital team leaders.
  • May train, mentor and coach digital content specialists and other content contributors by providing developmental opportunities, responding to questions, providing direction to set others up for success.
  • Promotes continual professional improvement and actively contributes to a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability.
  • Manages scope of projects to approved budgets in collaboration with other leaders.
  • Effectively articulates and presents strategic priorities, content strategy and implementation plans to a variety of audiences.
  • In conjunction with team leaders, creates website and social media conventions, best practices and consistent usage and adoption such as for promotion blocks and crosslinking.
  • Works in partnership with product manager and data analyst to identify clear measurements of success across digital initiatives.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $71,040.18 to $106,560.27
Hourly Salary Range: $34.15 to $51.23
