Hello Students!

We are actively seeking an undergraduate 2025 LG Summer Intern to join our Product Regulation & Environmental Affairs (PREA) Team.

Our PREA Internship is a 9-week program from June 2nd through August 1st .

The internship will be based in the office (Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM) at the LG North America Innovation Campus in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and pay an hourly rate of $25.00.

The LG Internship Program is built on the philosophy of ensuring that each intern is given the opportunity to perform robust and meaningful work while gaining real-world experience.
The program will also include each intern working on an individual strategic project for the department and delivering a presentation at the program's end.

The main project for the PREA Intern is: Under the Trump administration, federal regulations have decreased while state-level regulations have increased in complexity and number. The intern will monitor, track, and organize these emerging regulations at the state level. This project is critical to ensuring the company remains compliant with local regulations, which vary from state to state.

Responsibilities



  • The intern will actively search for regulatory notices, state bills, and laws related to energy, building codes, and hazardous substances in packaging materials for each state. They will compile and organize these requirements to ensure they are properly understood and documented.
  • The intern will analyze product hazardous substance trend reports and develop a comprehensive regulatory status table for hazardous substances across the United States. This will include tracking the latest updates in state-specific regulations and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Daily progress reports will be submitted to the manager, with a focus on the accuracy and completeness of the analysis. The intern will collaborate with the manager to verify that the requirements have been fully understood, ensuring there are no overlooked details in the regulatory research and analysis process.



Qualifications



  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited College/University.
  • Rising Sophomore, Rising Junior in an environmental science, sustainability, or a related major is preferred with an understanding of the regulatory landscape in these areas.
  • Specific course work in organic chemistry, energy systems, or electronics/electrical engineering would be highly beneficial for analyzing technical regulations in energy and hazardous substances.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy when reviewing and documenting regulatory updates.
  • Be proactive in asking questions when uncertain and seeking to improve upon any issues raised.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to work well in a cross functional/cross cultural environment.
  • Ability to utilize strong analytical skills and stay well organized in order to manage data and handle multi-tasking.
  • High level of functionality with data management, analysis, and tools.


Recruiting Range
$23 - $25 USD
