TITLE: Material Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To enhance product performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Aim to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive research, improve manufacturing processes, and deliver high-quality BOPP materials that meet the evolving needs of the packaging, labeling, and industrial sectors.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Material Engineer degree or equivalent degree preferred
  • Good computing skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills


  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Material Development: Research, develop, and optimize BOPP film materials to enhance properties such as opacity, barrier performance, UV resistance, and mechanical strength.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing processes, including extrusion, orientation, and surface treatment techniques.
  • Quality Control: Conduct material characterization using advanced techniques such as optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to ensure film quality and performance.
  • Testing and Validation: Perform and analyze tests to evaluate film properties, including UV resistance, barrier performance, and mechanical durability.
  • Innovation: Identify and implement new materials, additives, or processing methods to improve film performance and reduce production costs.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and develop new products.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.



WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Inside, protected from weather
  • Temperature controlled
  • Subject to noise, moving machinery, and/or electrical currents
  • Possible exposure to some chemicals, gases, high heat
  • Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, and dusts
