What You'll Do
- Work from Drawings, specifications, and job layouts; use a variety of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators, and all Vernier instruments with a high degree of accuracy.
- Lay out and plan machining operations, perform difficult machine setups, and Make adjustments to programs as required and operations involving improving tools and machines along with improvising standard equipment for unusual adaptations.
- Set up, adjust, and operate various types of milling machines, boring mills, engine lathes, tracer lathes, and drill presses; to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of close tolerance work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Setup, Machine all types of jobs, repeat, pre-engineered, or new development jobs in all metals (common and less common) with no supervision
- Select speeds and feeds, operational sequences, and tooling for required operations.
- Grind tools, spin blocks, rollers, rings, etc.
- Responsible for equipment, materials, work, and keeping the work area clean and organized.
- Proceed with minimum or no supervision and direction.
- Perform other duties as necessary to complete other tasks.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ experience knowledge of machining, shop mathematics, and shop practices
- Must have a valid OSHA fork truck license and hold 1C and 3A hoisting license.
- Ability and willingness to perform the duties of 2C and 3C machinists
