We're hiring a VP, Terminal Operations. The Vice President, Terminal Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a terminal's operational activities, including managing staff, optimizing cargo handling processes, ensuring safety compliance, and achieving operational efficiency to meet strategic goals for the terminal business. The focus is to develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies to improve terminal efficiency, cost control, and throughput, aligning with company goals and to deliver on spec fuels safely.

  • Develop a safety-first culture within the Terminals organization

  • Oversee and manage day to day operations

  • Ensure safe, compliant, efficient operations while receiving and delivering on spec products

  • Optimize operational standards and performance across the network

  • Customer focus

  • Help develop, implement and maintain operational procedures and workflows

  • Build and instill ownership mindset

  • Lead, manage and support Complex and Terminal Managers and Supervisors

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners

  • Partnering with EH&S for operator training, spill response training and exercises, and unannounced Terminal audits

  • Responsible for employee and leadership development and building a positive culture

  • Develop near-miss reporting program

  • Developing and maintaining an optimized OpEx budget

  • Work with HR for contract and union negotiations

  • Responsible for creating a response and evaluation plan for investigating and minimizing human error releases

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in terminal operations, midstream/downstream energy sector with a focus on procedures and safety.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Problem solving capabilities

  • Project management skills

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Knowledge of best practices and Industry standards.

  • Strategic thinking

  • Understanding of operational processes and best practices

  • Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards

  • Financial management skills with experience in budgeting

  • Multitask

  • Talent evaluation

  • Able to be an incident commander for any type of emergency response

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
