BASIC PURPOSE:

The Strategic Initiatives Project Manager will play a critical role in advancing the bank's community lending and affordable housing initiatives by managing key business development activities, stakeholder engagements, and strategic projects. Reporting to the Director of Community Investment Services (CIS), this role will serve as a primary point of contact for new business opportunities, community lending efforts, and research to support the Bank's Targeted Community Lending Plan (TCLP).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with the Director of Community Investment Services in managing business development and event initiatives or projects from inception to completion to include planning, research, design, and the assembly of background material, reports, and data. Manages the development and execution of the requirements and functions of Community Investment Services special initiatives and events.
Strategic Project Management & Business Development:
  • Serve as the lead project manager for key CIS initiatives, ensuring compliance with deadlines, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the development and implementation of new products related to affordable housing and community lending.
  • Support the development, execution, and reporting of the Targeted Community Lending Plan (TCLP) to align with regulatory requirements and community needs.
  • Track market trends, policies, and opportunities to inform strategies for affordable housing and community lending initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate new business development opportunities that enhance the bank's engagement in affordable housing and community lending opportunities.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement:
  • Serve as the liaison between internal teams and external partners, including housing advocates, nonprofits, government agencies, and financial institutions.
  • Organize and facilitate focus groups and meetings to gather and document input from stakeholders and inform the development of community lending initiatives.
  • Represent the bank at board meetings, industry conferences, and community events, providing updates on community lending programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify speaking opportunities for the bank's leadership at industry-related events, conferences, and panel discussions to promote affordable housing programs.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and materials for senior leadership, ensuring clear and effective communication of business updates.
Event Coordination & Sponsorship Management:
  • Act as a liaison with other areas of the Bank to ensure related presentations, promotional materials and speaking engagements are well-coordinated to effectively represent the Bank at affordable housing and community lending programs.
  • Manage event planning and logistics, ensuring the successful execution of CIS-sponsored activities, workshops, and outreach events.
  • Oversee and track events and sponsorship requests, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and timely processing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to manage "business-related projects, initiatives and/or new product implementations", from idea generation to design, draft, proposal, implementation and post project assessment, while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and community development initiatives, leading a meeting, strong problem-solving, decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, public speaking, presentation, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in short periods of time.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel) is required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • A bachelor's degree and four years of related project management experience preferably in the business development, affordable housing, community lending, and/or economic development areas, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • A master's degree in finance, public administration, urban planning, business, real estate, marketing or communications is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to travel for events, stakeholder meetings, and industry engagements asneeded.

Work Location:This individual must reside within commuting distance from ourAtlanta, GAoffice. This position may not be filled in California, either in-person or remotely.

Work Schedule:Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially.
