Great Hill Solutionsis seeking a full-time Travel Operations Coordinator at the Defense Security Cooperation University's (DSCU) Institute for Security Governance (ISG) in Monterey, CA. ISG is the is the Department of Defense's leading implementer for Institutional Capacity Building (ICB) and one of its strategic international schoolhouses. To meet the mission of ISG, the Operations, Travel, Logistics and Technical team executes centralized operations support and oversight to all programs. Operational and logistics support of ISG programs involves gathering, anticipating, coordinating, and fulfilling requirements that enable global engagements. The team is charged with "Behind-the scenes support" to enable the advancement of U.S. security cooperation objectives through the conduct of advising and functional engagements, mobile education teams (METs), and resident education courses.

To execute this mission, the team is charged with: Processing Country Clearance requests, preparation of force protection plans, developing Isolated Personnel Reports (ISOPREPs), preparation and coordination of pre-travel training, processing passport and visa letter requests, preparation of travel briefings, as well as web and systems enterprise development and support, to include website construction and maintenance.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Coordinate end-to-end international travel arrangements for personnel, including flights, accommodations, ground transportation, and travel documentation.
  • Ensure travel requests comply with organizational policies, government regulations, and regional requirements.
  • Manage travel itineraries and maintain accurate traveler records in internal tracking systems.
  • Assist with travel documentation including visas, passports, APACS (Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System), and country clearance processes.
  • Monitor real-time travel disruptions and provide contingency support (e.g., cancellations, delays, rebooking).
  • Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless travel execution.
  • Provide pre-travel briefings and support to personnel traveling to high-risk or complex regions.
  • Maintain compliance with security and data protection protocols, including handling of PII (Personally Identifiable Information).
  • Support post-travel reconciliation and reporting activities as needed.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree with one year proven experience as a Travel Coordinator supporting any DoD agency, DoD regional center, university, or think tank, or related industry.
  • Current Secret Security clearance or ability to attain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience in planning, arranging, and making the necessary travel purchases for participants, including the purchase of airline tickets and ground transportation services for participants traveling from other countries to the U.S. or to other countries.
  • Experience supporting travel requirements for an office and/or program, with preference for experience with Defense Travel System (DTS). Must show working knowledge of: U.S. Government travel policies, the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and proficiency in the use of the Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Recent experience in coordinating multiple projects, delegation, and coordinating multiple lines of effort and resourcing across multiple projects.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
