Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineer is a crucial team member to the FAA Certificated Repair Station structure. They work together with Manufacturing Engineers to increase operational capabilities while ensuring product quality objectives.

Job Responsibilities

* Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.

* Maintain positive team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.

* Work side-by-side with manufacturing engineers in evaluating, developing and revising work instructions.

* Breaks down technical problems, risks and opportunities, to create or improve processes that add value to GKN Aerospace through creating Zero Defects.

* Continuously improve production processes using practical problem solving and facilitating Lean initiatives.

* Implement global business tools to perform root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to eliminate non-conformances utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.

* Drive systematic RCCA and problem resolution and report on non-conformance trend analysis.

* Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement and defect reduction.

* Perform internal procedure, process and product audits.

* Perform first article inspections.

* Assist in training personnel in quality topics.

* Support operations by attending daily production meetings

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or commensurate experience)

* 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a Manufacturing environment, including Root cause methodologies experience, experience using inspection equipment and ability to read, write and comprehend technical manuals

* Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.

* Fluent in English language, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications:

* GKN Experience

* Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9001, AS9100, or AS9110

* Aerospace experience is strongly preferred

* Experience in FAA Repair Station is a plus

* Six Sigma green belt certification or training

* Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

* Experience using MRP/ERP Software

* Experience with auditing / Auditor Certificate is a plus

* Customer facing experience is a plus

* Training and/or experience in lean tools and techniques (Practical Problem Solving, A3, PFMEA and/or Fishbone diagrams)

* Project / Program Management

* Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent

* Ability to use measurement and test equipment

* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is between $90,293 - $112,886.
