Position Overview The Principal Supply Chain Risk Advisor will lead the overall management of the Supply Chain Strategic Risk function, preparing and protecting the organization from potential disruptions. This role is critical to ensuring the resilience, compliance, and efficiency of our global supply chain, with a focus on managing risks that could impact product quality, delivery timelines, regulatory compliance, and overall business continuity. Responsibilities include identification and creation of business continuity plans, contract risk and redundancies, supply and supplier continuity, and disaster & disruption planning. This role involves analyzing internal and third-party data to identify risks, and build systems that continuously monitor threats to supplier, manufacturing, R&D, and clinical lab teams. The Principal Supply Chain Risk Advisor engages and influences senior and executive level leaders through advisory councils and core team participation. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain risk management framework, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor global trends, market conditions, and geopolitical developments to proactively address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, reliability, and compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, ISO).
- Establish and maintain supplier risk profiles, conducting regular audits and assessments.
- Develop and enforce policies for supplier onboarding, risk mitigation, and exit strategies.
- Identify vulnerabilities in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Lead the development of strategies for inventory management, dual sourcing, and alternative logistics solutions.
- Lead the development and implementation of robust business continuity plans (BCPs) to minimize the impact of supply chain disruptions on operations and revenue.
- Identify critical supply chain components and dependencies, establishing clear strategies to address potential disruptions, including natural disasters, cyber threats, and geopolitical issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and refine response plans, ensuring preparedness for a wide range of scenarios.
- Conduct regular simulations, drills, and audits to validate the effectiveness of business continuity strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of business continuity plans and ensure alignment with overall organizational resilience goals.
- Partner with procurement, quality assurance, operations, and R&D teams to integrate risk management practices across the supply chain.
- Provide insights and training on risk management to internal stakeholders.
- Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify risk trends.
- Prepare and present risk assessment reports and mitigation strategies to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with procurement, sourcing, and legal teams to review and assess supply chain contracts for potential risks, ensuring alignment with organizational risk management strategies.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, financial stability, and compliance obligations within contractual agreements.
- Provide guidance on contractual terms and conditions, including force majeure clauses, liability caps, and termination provisions, to protect organizational interests.
- Ensure contracts include clear expectations for supplier risk management and business continuity obligations.
- Act as a key advisor in negotiations with suppliers to address risk-related concerns and secure favorable outcomes.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
- Ability to set a working schedule that allows for flexibility that is hybrid in nature, working 3+ days a week in an office location.
- Ability and means to travel 20% between Exact Sciences locations and supplier locations which may include overnights and weekend travel.
- Ability and means to travel 5% between Exact Sciences locations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years of experience in a supply chain management role or a field related to the essential duties of this role.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain risk assessment, mitigation, business continuity planning, and contract risk support.
- Strong understanding of GMP, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPSM or professional procurement certification.
- Experience with contract law and experience in evaluating supply chain agreements for risk management purposes.

Salary Range: $152,000.00 - $242,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
