Job Description:

This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.

AVP, Field Distribution Operations Strategy - The Auto Club Group

What you will do

Reports to: VP or above

Responsible for field business operations/design support of EA and IA channels to include the development and maintenance of current and future strategic direction and support model.

  • Alignment with the strategic direction of ACG (applicable to AAA and Meemic), driving business results, and influencing behaviors that highlight long term, profitable, sustainable growth.
  • Provide oversight, through management staff, of sales support functions including service quality, training, agent rewards & recognition programs project and sales rules and procedures.
  • Provide on-going support for agents to include onboarding, appointments, office open/close/move and financial and goal achievement.
  • Develop and update AAA and Meemic contracts for EA and IA channel.
  • Coordinate with agent compensation team to develop profitable commission programs to support company agency growth.
  • Partner with General Council/legal teams for all things related to independent contractor relationships.
  • Build and manage vendor relationship.
  • Oversee the development and administration of field business design operations, EA recruiting, EA/IA onboarding processes and initiatives, agent contracts and reporting.
  • Oversee EA recruiting team and onboarding team responsible for obtaining recruiting and deployment goals. Construct, enhance and maintain EA and IA onboarding processes.
  • Manage comparative raters, oversight of Insurance Operations and Field Distribution expenses, staffing, and the requisition approval process.
  • Provide information to AAA National and supports Accreditation.
  • Work with business area to establish consistent sales compensation plans, by role, across the footprint.
  • Establish sales goals, performance standards and provides oversight of adherence and progress.
  • Oversee the development of reporting processes and reports to ensure consistent, non-redundant, reliable information is readily available for making strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Partner with Finance and other business units to develop and maintain a central repository for the data, metrics and reports that are produced.
  • Provide recommendations for consistent, defined processes for administering office leases in alignment with corporate distribution strategy and consistent with AAA National standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provide oversight to the department through Managers, professional and support staff at multiple locations across the footprint. Oversee and participate in processes related to the selection, hiring, training and development of assigned staff.

II. Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)

Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License

Experience:

  • 10 years Property and Casualty experience with increasing responsibility that included several years of management experience.
  • Leading large scale transformational initiatives
  • Creating short and long term cross functional strategic initiatives
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and managing field support operations and activities for a multi-state organization.
  • Developing business plans
  • Budgeting process
  • Sales processes and procedures
  • Marketing sales and business strategies
  • Financial modeling
  • General ledger, regulatory, economic climate, and business lines operations
  • Insurance delivery systems
  • Business project management and planning
  • Successfully building and sponsoring teams that take joint ownership of projects, programs, and related activities.
  • Building consensus between business, field, and project teams

Management experience to include:

  • Evaluate a complex business process and understand the interdependencies between components.

Strong written and oral communication skills, to include preparation of proposals, reports, and technical writing. (A sample may be required at time of interview).

III. Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous managerial experience and ability to effectively manage in a matrix environment.
  • Previous experience in supporting both Agencies and the Home Office environments.

Skills and abilities:

  • Ability to influence others and collaborate across departments.

Knowledge of:

  • AAA membership/travel operations
  • Auto Club Group products and services
  • Auto Club Group sales compensation and incentive programs

IV. Work Environment

  • Works in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Some travel is required with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.
  • Irregular hours, including some overnight travel. Hours required vary based on business needs and effort is driven by project deadlines.
