Finance Analyst - Japanese Bilingual Conversational

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join a global company in Torrance, CA. The Finance Analyst will play a crucial role in providing financial analysis, reporting, and support across various business functions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, and possess a solid understanding of financial statements. Responsibilities:
* Analyze sales deductions, including discounts, rebates, and chargebacks, to identify trends and variances.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of promotional programs and provide recommendations for optimization.
* Prepare reports and presentations on sales deduction and promotion performance.
* Analyze product costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Develop and maintain product costing models.
* Prepare reports on product cost variances and trends.
* Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to identify key performance indicators and trends.
* Prepare financial reports and presentations for management.
* Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
* Analyze tradeshow expenses to determine ROI and identify cost efficiencies.
* Track and reconcile all tradeshow related spending.
* Analyze departmental operational expenses, identify areas of overspending and provide suggestions for cost control.
* Prepare operational expense reports.
* Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
* Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
* Develop and maintain financial forecasting models.
* Assist in credit limit reference checks, approve sales orders based on customer credit limits and maintain accurate records.
* Assist in purchase order and purchase request approval by ensuring that are aligned with budget and company needs.
* Assist with tax related duties such as the preparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns, sales tax, property tax, 1042, 1099, and other tax-related documents.
* Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
* Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques.
* Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP or IFRS).
* Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and financial modeling).
* Proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
* Ability to develop and implement financial models and forecasts.
* Ability to perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary.
* Ability to conduct thorough research and gather relevant information.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Japanese (conversational fluency).
