Maintenance Procedure Writer

Position Summary:

  • Coordinates design and formatting work, print production and mail handling
  • Determines proper distribution of Print Shop workload by monitoring Print Shop Pro workflow software, SendSuite package handling software, and daily incoming and outgoing mail volumes
  • Works with customers to ensure needs are met quickly and correctly.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and communicates information back to Print Shop staff
  • Communicates issues to management in an ongoing and timely manner
  • Runs and maintains print shop equipment and coordinates service calls as needed
  • Performs other departmental tasks as assigned.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Update current REO documentation to new CMMS PM Work Descriptions/Procedure/WI template and supporting documents (e.g. operations, maintenance, administrative) using technical writing principles
  • Create new REO documentation (e.g. Procedures, WI's) by working directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop drafts and incorporate changes throughout process

    • This could include some time (~30%) working onsite at the BWL, including a physical prescence on the plant floor


  • Work with AM Engineers to align documentation with FMEA results and Equipment Maintenance Plans
  • Assist with changes to Operator/Maintenance Log formats as needed (driven by Procedure/WI needs)
  • Provide training for employees on how to write accurate documentation in a standard format
  • Assist in developing and implement standards for storing documents in the document management system.

    • Work with end users to ensure the right documents area readily accessible as needed.
    • Work to mitigate the risks associated with offline copies. Set up and implement standards for managing hard copy documents where necessary.
    • Follow document retention policy
    • Follow REO document Change Process and CMMS Updating Processes


  • Provide an estimated schedule of completion for the work asked by the BWL


Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • High-school Diploma, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Previous leadership experience or training is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams is required
  • Exposure to and ability to use the Internet
  • Must pass standardized testing addressing Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via phone and in writing, and multi-task


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate verbally via phone and in written form
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
