Job Summary

The Commercial Insertion Technician will be responsible for content and schedule distribution; monitoring insertion equipment performance; retrieval and processing of insertion verification data; and the maintenance and support of technical systems in service delivery of our business.

Responsibilities
  • Execute daily operating procedures, including: loading of schedules, retrieval of verifications, insertion equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and creating reports.
  • Collaborate with Traffic Coordinators when collecting schedules, investigating any troubleshooting issues, and by importing data into software for schedule distribution, such as Eclipse.
  • Must be able to work effectively with the Traffic, and Billing & Encoding departments to ensure high spot air success.
  • Ensure that all insertion equipment is operating properly through the use of high speed network.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of all networks that air local advertising for audio and video quality, timing and success/failure of spot playback.
  • Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the company values.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree preferred
  • Previous video operations or electronics experience preferred
  • Background using computer graphics, character generators and digital effects in a television broadcast or postproduction facility is preferred
  • Strong knowledge in Windows/Windows NT/2000, Microsoft Office software, personal computers and local area networking equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premier, Linux and Microsoft SQL platforms preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize effectively
  • Video engineering or broadcast television work experience a plus
