Empire Distributors Inc, A Leading Beverage Distributor is now hiring a Retail District Manager. Our company offers excellent benefits, competitive wages and the potential for growth opportunities.

The Retail District Manager for the counties of Wilmington and surrounding areas. Weekend work is occasionally required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Manages sales activities of the Retail sales division through executing sales programs in the marketplace.

* Oversees effectiveness of Off-Premise sales force by riding with and evaluating Sales Representatives.

* Communicates and monitors Empire's objectives and expectations through staffing, training, and performance evaluations.

* Understands and coaches the company philosophy of customer service.

* Prepares for and conducts general meetings in the absence of the Sales Manager.

* Conducts wine training and tastings in general meetings.

* Manages store resets and sets-up new package store accounts.

* Tracks sales quotas compared to budget on a weekly basis.

* Supervises salesperson's daily activities.

* Monitors the utilization and effectiveness of point-of-sale materials in the market.

* Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.

* Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

* Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition in relation to Empire's presence in the market.

* Maintains high visibility in key accounts.

* Interacts with suppliers through work-withs, dinners and trade functions.

* Reports on focus items on a monthly basis and prepares monthly preplan calendar.

* Conduct and document market surveys.

* Reviews weekly sales performance to monitor gross profit and case sales.

* Recaps monthly incentives.

* Conducts business assures business is conducted according to local and state laws.

* Maintains open communication with other departments.

* Continually maintains training and product knowledge.

* Provides sales coverage in territories when sales representatives are out.

* Tracks item movement for efficient shelf management in each account.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Driver's License and a State Sales Permit

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems,

inventory software and spreadsheet software.
