VCU Health at Chesterfield Meadows is a primary care clinic that also provides care for patients who see various specialists such as Adult & Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, Child Neurology, Pediatric GI, Pediatric Rheumatology and Adult Neurology. The primary emphasis of this LPN role will be providing hand-on care that includes rooming patients, vaccine administration, patient education and phlebotomy We are seeking an LPN who possesses excellent communication skills with the ability to relate in a positive way with both patients and providers. We are a small team who relies upon one another to support our patients needs so a strong work ethic is essential to being successful in our clinic. We truly value all team members and encourage professional growth for all! Our clinic is open Monday-Friday and we are typically able to offer modified schedules with several of our nurses working 9 or 10 hour shifts.

The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.

The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Licensure, certification or registration varies depending on the incumbent`s employment background and transitional assignment; LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current LPN Licensure in Virginia AHA BLS Certification or equivalent
Experience REQUIRED:
Varies based on transitional duty assignment.
Experience PREFERRED:
Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
Education/training REQUIRED:
Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing
Education/training PREFERRED: N/A
Independent action(s) required:
Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignment.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A
Additional position requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurses work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
Age Specific groups served:
As appropriate based ontransitional duty assignment.

Physical: Lifting 50-100 lbs.
Other: Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances

This Role will support all patients that receive care at the VCU Health Chesterfield Meadows location. The LPN will provide hands on care that includes rooming patients, vaccine administration, patient teaching and phlebotomy. We are typically able to offer modified schedules with several of our nurses working 9 or 10 hour shifts. Our small team values excellent patient care and works together closely as we care for the patients in our local and VCU communities.
