Exciting Opportunity: Become a Licensed Patient Access Clinician at Newport Healthcare!

Are you a passionate clinician eager to make a difference in the lives of individuals seeking mental health treatment? Newport Healthcare is searching for a dedicated Licensed Patient Access Clinician to join our innovative team! In this vital role, you will provide essential pre-admission screening and assessment services for patients applying to our treatment facilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Connect Virtually: Conduct engaging virtual assessments to evaluate applicants' safety profiles and gather crucial clinical and background information.
  • Thorough Documentation: Complete screening and assessment documentation with professionalism and accuracy, ensuring timely submission.
  • In-Depth Record Reviews: Analyze clinical and medical screening questionnaires, treatment records, and other relevant information to inform admission decisions.
  • Risk Assessment: Assign safety and elopement risk levels, collaborating with onsite staff to ensure effective risk management strategies are in place before admission.
  • Consult and Collaborate: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on complex cases, consulting with medical and psychiatric services as needed.
  • Engage and Support: Build authentic relationships with patients and their families, guiding them through the referral and admissions process with empathy and understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure as a clinician (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist).
  • Experience in mental health assessment and risk evaluation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's or Doctoral Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited graduate school required.
  • Licensure: Licensed in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or as a Clinical Psychologist in a state where Newport Healthcare provides treatment services required.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of clinical experience with the adolescent or young adult population (ages 12-28) required.
    • At least 2 years of experience with mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorder treatment required.
    • Experience with biopsychosocial assessments.
    • Experience working at IOP, PHP, and RTC level of care settings.
  • Expertise: Proficient in DSM-5 diagnostics, including complex symptom presentation, differential diagnosis, and the use of specifiers and severity indicators.
