Overview:

The Design Engineering (DE) Group within the Nonreactor Nuclear Facility Division is seeking a Design Engineering Integrator. This position will support and coordinate engineering, design, drafting, 3D scanning, and product data management (PDM) services across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, HVAC, structural, and electrical. This role focuses on project coordination, resource planning, and process improvement within the Design Engineering functional area to ensure efficient execution of engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, project coordination experience, and the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines to improve workflows and efficiency.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee engineering, design, drafting, and PDM services, ensuring projects align with functional area and organizational objectives.
  • Lead regular cross-disciplinary meetings, design reviews, and project status updates, serving as the key communication link between customers, key stakeholders, and the design engineering team.
  • Facilitate collaboration among the design engineering disciplines (mechanical, structural, & HVAC) and manage resource allocation and scheduling across design engineering projects.
  • Identify technical or process-related challenges within the design engineering functional area and work with discipline leads to implement solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, integrate best practices, and optimize collaboration among the design engineering team and other functional areas.
  • Work with Leadership team to identify staffing, training, and technology needs to support long-term growth within the design engineering functional area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a technical field with 5+ years of experience. An AS degree in a technical field with 7+ years of experience, may also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in design engineering, technical project coordination, or operations support.
  • Experience working on engineering projects associated with designing structures, systems, or components (SSCs) within a nuclear facility.
  • Understanding of design engineering, 3D modeling, drafting, and PDM systems.
  • Experience working with mechanical, HVAC, structural, and electrical disciplines.
  • Ability to manage schedules, track progress, and support resource planning.
  • Strong ability to coordinate across teams and support decision-making.
  • Proven leadership skills with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving technical and operational issues.
  • Ability to execute vision, drive accountability, and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Experience with industry-standard design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, M365 Applications, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, etc.).
  • Prior work experience in a nuclear facility is desirable.
