Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop methods for analytical tests, equipment, chemical analyses, procedures meeting established standards and industry requirements.
  2. Analyze test samples utilizing appropriate test methods.
  3. May assist in overseeing work conducted by Lab technician or assistants.
  4. May assist in troubleshooting out of specification test results.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge:

  1. Must have a BS in chemistry or equivalent.
  2. Experience performing analytical or chemical testing on pharmaceutical, cosmetic, nutritional, raw materials, water samples, bulk samples & finished products.
  3. Knowledge of current CTFA/PCPC, AOAC and other industry standard methods and procedures.
  4. Must be familiar with Agilent HPLC, chemstation, LC, GC-FID/MS, TLC, HP-TLC, Spectrophotometer, Titration, pH, conductivity and other chemical equipment, techniques and programs required for pharmaceutical, nutritional and cosmetic product assays/tests.

Essential Experience:

  1. Minimum of 1 year experience working in an analytical laboratory. 3+ years of experience is preferred.
  2. Computer literate. Be able to work with Microsoft programs such as word and excel, ability to utilize search engines, and create spreadsheets, etc.

Essential Mental, Physical and Auditory/Visual Requirements:

  1. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  2. Able to adapt to changes to improve company process.

Managerial Responsibility:

  1. May assist in overseeing work conducted by Lab technician or assistants.
