Manager Loyalty Accounting Position Summary The Manager Loyalty Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting team to ensure JetBlue's frequent flyer/loyalty program, TrueBlue, is reported accurately and on time.This responsibility includes managing several crewmembers and overseeing general ledger postings, reconciliations, forecasting, analysis of budget versus actual, as well as ensuring internal controls are properly maintained. The Manager also ensures successful implementation of all Loyalty Program initiatives, including process development, system testing and technical accounting research, etc. Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting for loyalty related programs, including revenue recognition, air traffic liability and related assets and liabilities
- Manage the accounting for the Loyalty subsidiary
- Manage the accounting of JetBlue's Cobranded credit card agreement
- Perform various fair value, cost, breakage etc. analysis to ensure proper assumptions used in accounting
- Ensure the accurate and timely invoicing of loyalty partners
- Interpret and apply the rules of multiple element arrangement accounting
- Research, analyze and conclude on the proper accounting treatment of new revenue sources and initiatives
- Foster a team environment and collaborate with other internal departments and external business partner
- Perform budgets and forecasts for areas of responsibility
- Manage and ensure resources are adequate for an efficient operation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls; document and develop new procedures when required
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums
- Understand contract terms and translate them into the appropriate application of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Five (5) years' experience in accounting roles, including public accounting and/or with a public company
- Proven understanding of accounting theory and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous airline industry experience
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who possesses a sense of urgency and an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands
- Previous experience with supervising others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with system implementations and/or major system enhancements
- SAP experience preferred

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System

- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $81,000.00 and $136,200.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
