The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in supporting anesthesia providers in the safe and efficient care of patients. This position is responsible for maintaining and preparing anesthesia equipment, assisting with airway management, and ensuring a well-stocked and organized work environment in operating rooms and satellite anesthetizing locations. The technician collaborates with the perioperative team to ensure smooth operating room turnover and patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, maintain, and stock the anesthesia workroom and equipment in all operating rooms and satellite anesthetizing locations

  • Assist anesthesia providers in the safe and efficient care of patients receiving anesthesia

  • Provide specialized equipment to support anesthesia staff as needed

  • Prepare anesthesia machines and carts for use the following day

  • Assemble and prepare intravenous (IV) solutions for anesthesia providers

  • Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure prompt OR turnover

  • Assist with difficult airway management by providing equipment such as video laryngoscopes and fiberoptic intubation carts

  • Prepare age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway support

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.

Experience:

  • Not specified; prior experience preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • None required.

Other Skills/Competencies:

  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret routine data

  • Effective communication skills to exchange information and relay messages with courtesy and tact

  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse internal and external constituencies
