Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Manager, the Research Coordinator serves as a primary resource for assigned Cardiology clinical research studies at Endeavor Health- Northwest Community Hospital What you will do:
- Coordinate and conduct multiple research projects from start to finish.
- Perform administrative duties related to budget prep, IRB approval, ongoing study maintenance, invoice creation and tracking, patient scheduling and tracking.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for single site and possible multi-location research studies within Endeavor Health.
- Administer compensation to research participants, if applicable, and in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Work with internal departments such as Laboratory Services, Pharmacy, Pathology and Radiology to collect required study specimens (i.e., tissue and/or blood) or imaging.
- Identify, recruit and enroll participants in the hospital/clinic setting. Obtain informed consent, collect and maintain data, perform physical evaluation (as defined by research protocol), collect and process biospecimens and/or collect imaging (as defined by research protocols).
- Ensures that all tests and treatments ordered/scheduled per protocol and abnormal results are assessed by Principal Investigator.
- Assist in the development of strategies and check-lists to efficiently and accurately complete studies and comply with study protocol and data entry requirements for each study.
- Communicate all study/protocol deviations and adverse events to the Principal Investigator in a timely and efficient manner.
- Document adverse events, and other appropriate information in required detail. Prioritize study requirements on an ongoing basis and adjust work schedule accordingly.
- Documents all patient encounters in electronic medical record per NCH Policy. Completes data entry in study established Electronic Data Capture systems, resolves queries and adheres to protocol data management plan.
- Retains all research related records according to Federal regulations, guidelines and NCH policy.
- Links study patients to clinical trial and links appropriate visits, labs, imaging, and procedures to study in EPIC.
- Communicates opportunities to open applicable, appropriate studies to Principal Investigator and Research Manager.
- Completes all required training, and ensures study staff has current training. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a medical field or equivalent on the job training. Masters preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of research experience as a research study assistant, research study coordinator or a combination of both
- Certification: Research certification SOCRA or CCRP preferred or must be attained after 2 years of employment in research position
