Gundersen Health System is seeking an experienced Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) who possesses a strong background in on-premises and cloud-based database systems to join our ITDS Development Services team.

What You'll Do:

As an Infrastructure Engineer -Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of our SQL Server databases. Your role is crucial in ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our applications. Experience with Epic's Cogito platform and Oracle databases is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server databases.

  • Monitor system performance and database security.

  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Optimize database performance.

  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

  • Implement database security policies and access controls.

  • Conduct regular database maintenance and upgrades.

What's Available:

  • Fulltime, 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)

  • M-F core business hours with on-call and off-hours support as needed

  • Remote work options for residents in WI, MN, or IA only

  • We have the ability to hire at various levels based on level of experience

An Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree, or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization.

  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Familiarity with database security best practices.

  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining backup and recovery procedures.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
