We are seeking a skilled Cable Harness Technician who will leverage their technical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and efficient human spaceflight. This role involves manufacturing space flight harness and sensor assemblies, operating precision tools and equipment, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to support our mission of safe space exploration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the transition to high-rate manufacturing, including work area development, tooling and equipment implementation plans, and production execution to meet deadlines.
  • Use automated and manual tools to fabricate wire harness and sensor assemblies (hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, retention testers, automated test equipment).
  • Perform hardware inspections and verifications, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and correct defects through documented process and application of electrical theory.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.

Team Focus & Domain Expertise

The Cable Harness team plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing of high-reliability harness and sensor assemblies that make up the critical avionics backbone of the vehicle. As a member of this team, your expertise will be needed for applying advanced manufacturing techniques for assembling and testing a wide range of products. Through your attention to detail, adherence to standard practices, and proactive eye for quality and continuous improvement, you will ensure high-quality results that support the mission.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a wire harness manufacturing position.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Manual dexterity to handle all types of hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers, cutters, torque tools, strap wrenches, screwdriver, etc.)
  • Basic math skills and ability to use dimensional measurement tools (tape measure, scale, calipers, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and distinguish colors.
  • Active or previous certifications in WHMA-A-620S, NASA-STD-8739.4, or AV1200-4; and IPC J-STD-001S.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes, driving innovation.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with unique electronics manufacturing processes and methods, including all types of solder terminations, micro-welding, thermal vacuum oven operation, and strain gauge assembly.
  • Experience using Formboards for harness fabrication
  • Experience with automated test equipment, measuring tools,water-sealing methods, and harness fabrication tooling.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills with a keen attention to detail, essential for leading teams in complex manufacturing tasks.
  • Cirrus hipot test equipment experience and proficiency.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Willingness to work overtime or adjust shifts as needed.

Position Specific Details

This position will require shift flexibility to align with changes in business need. Shift schedules are outlined below:

Shift: Monday - Friday (3pm - 1:30am), Location: Space Coast, FL, Relocation: Available
