Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance of ATGE Veterinary and Medical Schools, this role supports the FP&A function for the Medical and Veterinary segment, leading a centralized FP&A team that supports the three institutions, American University of the Caribbean, Ross University School of Medicine and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. The incumbent will work closely with the finance leaders at each institution along with MedVet leadership in the execution of their duties. This position will lead financial analysis work, financial modelling and projection, capital/investment analysis, budgeting, forecasting and other similar finance related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and working closely and collaboratively with the Directors of Finance of each institution, this role will lead segment level FP&A activities and support annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, month end close activities, variance analysis and reporting.
  • Manages financial consolidations, monthly operating review deliverables and other regular and ad-hoc needs ofVP, Finance and institutions' Directors of Finance.
  • Leads the development of analyses or other special projects to support strategic and executive management decisions.
  • Develops financial models to support short-term and long-term business projections and decision making.
  • Partners with institutions and functions to build business cases to justify new investments.
  • Works across the Medical and Veterinary segment to solve business problems.
  • Leads growth with purpose, process improvement and/or income growth projects as needed.
  • Supports monthly forecast and annual operating plan process.
  • Provides leadership for two direct reports on the segment FP&A team.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field is required. MBA is preferred.
  • 7+ years financial planning & analysis experience required and with significant experience in model development and presentation. Experience with higher education or in the healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills combined with outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write, develop, and deliver presentations.
  • Deep understanding of operational and financial processes, and the relationship between the two.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and secondary research skills needed. Ability to synthesize and clearly articulate information a must.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities to influence peer and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to build trust and effective working relationships across a broad range of people and functions.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,336.75 and $145,077.09. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
