Your main responsibilities

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing leadership and direction necessary to achieve key Schindler objectives. Responsible for oversight of personnel policies and procedures to ensure compliance within the scope of the law. Serve as a point of contact for management staff on various employment related issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the human resources department working directly with other areas and department to ensure the highest quality internal customer service. Assure support to staff from headquarters and resolve problems as they may arise.
  • Responsible for employee relations initiatives, facilitating open dialog between management and employees. Maintain positive relations in the community through various coordinated efforts and serve as a Schindler representative at various functions and events.
  • Maintain a Schindler represented facility by providing effective and open communication with a consistent application of policies and procedures. Responsible for consistent application of policies plant wide.
  • Responsible for direct performance evaluation for subordinates, and review of all evaluations throughout the facility. Insurance of proper documentation of corrective action as required by law and company policy. Provide necessary guidance and coaching to management staff.
  • Coordinate with staff and management to plan and execute training development needs for facility. Will initiate and conduct on-site management training as well as plant wide training in various topics and forums.


  • Maintain open communications with entire management staff and actively participate in management decisions that affect employee groups. Maintain positive working relationships with corporate HR officers, other sites and staff to facilitate process improvements and attempt to maintain a coordinated effort toward set goals and objectives company wide.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous Human Resources and administration experience required.
  • Computer Skills: General Computer knowledge. Prefer knowledge of spreadsheets, and Microsoft office. Experience with HRIS software helpful.
  • Problem Solving: Requires considerable interpretation of complex problems. Must engage in evaluative thinking, judgment is a prime factor.
  • Communication: Must have excellent communication & people skills and very high verbal and good written abilities.
