Job Title: Mechanical Designer Location(s): Palo Alto, CA Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer for a short-term contract position. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, capable of designing mechanical parts and assemblies, ordering parts, and assisting with assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly translate design concepts into functional components. Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks. Generate detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Select and order appropriate materials and components. Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure design feasibility. Assist with prototype assembly and testing. Troubleshoot and revise designs based on testing and feedback. Qualifications: Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience with ordering parts and working with suppliers. Hands-on mechanical assembly experience is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with SAP PLM system. Must-Have Skills: SolidWorks for mechanical design work. Experience in making mechanical parts and assemblies. GD&T experience. Familiarity with machining techniques. Attention to detail. Nice-to-Have Skills: AUTOCAD, SAP PLM, self-starter, good work ethic, internal R&D for structural parts, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), 10 years of experience. Additional Requirements: Must have CCWSCSVCC and SolidWorks, Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree, manufacturing experience. Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
