JOB DESCRIPTION: The UVMHN Manager HIM Operations Support and Network Data Integrity coordinates and leads all operations related to ensuring the information integrity of the patient medical record including, but not limited to, the EMPI (Enterprise Master Patient Index), data integrity corrections, accuracy of information accessed via EPIC Care Everywhere and VITL, the Vermont HIE. Provide HIM operational support and education across the Network as needed related HIM operations including EPIC/systems testing support, forms management, downtime forms and amendment requests for UVMMC, scanning solutions, dictation/transcription, analysis and suspension, and Joint Commission requirements for Record of Care and Information Management. Manages the UVMMC and CVMC release of information process. Understands privacy rules and collaborates with external vendor solutions to meet standards for safeguarding and timely provisioning of information for all request types. Utilizes new technology to support compliant release of information (ROI). Collaborate with the Director HIM to support ROI Quality Coordinators for regulatory audit process and reporting. Maintains UVMMC, CVMC and UVMHN HIM operational policies and procedures and serves as the HIM content expert on associated committees and teams. Collaborate with and educates internal users and partner sites on HIM operational workflows including but not limited to scanning, EMPI, ROI, Analysis, Suspensions, records system archiving, transcription and dictation. The HIM Operations Support and Network Data Integrity demonstrates excellence and maintains a high level of internal visibility, positive communication and knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the content of the patient record. The HIM Integrity Manager maintains a high level of knowledge in relation to HIM functions and the coordination of processes throughout the UVMHN to ensure complete and accurate health records for each patient served, data integrity is maintained, and provides access of health information to support quality patient care. Serves as point of contact for all UVMMC patient amendment requests and maintain associated data integrity policy and procedures. EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required in Business or health related field. Certification required as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). EXPERIENCE: Ten or more years of management experience in an HIM Department is required. |
