* Base Pay Range: $25.32 - $39.99/hour, based on experience


ABOUT THE JOB

Join our dynamic Mizzou Specialty Pharmacy team as an ambulatory pharmacy technician supervisor, where your expertise will make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community! Mizzou Specialty Pharmacy partners with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive management of chronic, complex, and rare diseases.

In this rewarding role, you'll be improving the lives of our patients by providing direct patient care and supervising the specialty patient medication liaisons. Direct care includes completion of prior authorizations, connecting patients with financial assistance, and managing refill logistics while working closely with pharmacists. You'll ensure that staff workload and productivity align with department standards. The right candidate will have effective oral and written communication as well as good organizational, problem-solving and computer skills.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform duties of a pharmacy technician and other duties as required.

Provide support and supervision for the day-to-day provision of pharmacy services through the effective management of pharmacy staff.

Monitor staff workload and productivity to meet the department's workload and productivity standards.

Monitor and report on assigned pharmacy area goals and programs.

Engage in optimizing pharmacy operations by focusing on measurable results.

Assist management in interviewing, selecting, and training pharmacy staff.

Serve as a liaison between department customers and pharmacy services.

Responsible for the resolution of customer service complaints and overall satisfaction.

Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care.

Monitor time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes.

May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS




  • Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Three (3) years of pharmacy experience.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS




  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Five (5) years of pharmacy experience.
  • Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs. This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
