Duties:

  • Perform Power Shell and T-SQL programming and execution;
  • Aid in SQL Server database administration and tuning;
  • Participate in all DevOps related processes;
  • Work with Windows O.S. management and tuning;
  • Create databases and schedule backups (Transaction log backup, Differential backup and Full backup) with Recovery options (Full or Simple);
  • Setup and maintain Replication for Production servers to provide high availability and monitor using Replication Monitor;
  • Setup Alerts, Notifications, Jobs, Job steps with automated Response solution schedules;
  • Create, review, and optimize SQL queries, CDC, stored procedures, functions, Indexes, views and Created maintenance plan for regular scheduled Transaction log backup, Full backup, Check database, Reorganize index, Rebuild Index, Update Statistics and Cleanup task;
  • Oversee Backup and Recovery tasks as required; and,
  • Help execute capacity planning across the SQL Server database.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, or related field; and seven (7) years of progressive related post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered, or in a Cloud Database Administrator, Senior - related occupation. Position also requires demonstrable experience with the following:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of PostgreSQL Database Administration to perform tuning, monitoring and optimization, High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR), Advanced Security Management to protect PostgreSQL databases, database design and architecture, and automation and scripting;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Oracle Database Administration to perform database architecture and design for optimal performance, scalability and reliability, High Availability and Disaster Recovery to ensure business continuity, performance tuning and optimization to meet business SLAs, security and compliance to ensure database security and data privacy, and automation and scripting to automate routine tasks;
  • Demonstrable experience with SQL Server Database Administration to perform tuning and optimization to optimize SQL Server performance, High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) to minimize downtime and ensure data availability, Advanced Security Management to implement Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Always Encrypted features to secure data, automation and scripting, and Capacity Planning and Scalability of SQL Server databases and infrastructure; and,
  • Demonstrable experience with Linux & Windows Server System Administration, design & development, DevOps Automation, and AWS.

Rate of Pay: $117,853 p/y
