Senior Data Engineer - GCP & BI Development

Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - GCP & BI Development for a 6-month remote contract position with a leading client in Brooklyn, OH.

Compensation: $41.25 per hour W2.

Job Description:

This role will help fulfill an important vision that the client Marketing Line of Business has in organizing various data streams (third party and internal data sources) into a single, scalable data warehouse in which several critical reports will be built from. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design and build data pipelines, database architectures, and robust reporting solutions. The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, experience with GCP data services and tools while being able to visualize results through extensive Tableau development to transform raw data into meaningful insights.

Job Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), Dataflow, Python and/or BigQuery.
• Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage for efficiency and scalability.
• Familiarity with setting up monitoring and/or alerting for data pipelines using Cloud Logging and Monitoring or other methodologies
• Assist with Marketing's "Clean Well of Data" project by creating, organizing and maintaining a data warehouse architecture in BigQuery, ensuring best practices in schema design, partitioning, and clustering.
• Ability to take general direction on where to pull date from and using SQL, Client how best to query and leverage them independently.
• Implement data governance and performance optimization techniques.
• Establish data cataloging and metadata management for structured documentation.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for business logic, aggregations, and transformations
• Implement stored procedures, views, tables, common table expressions (CTEs), and materialized views for efficient querying.
• Troubleshoot query performance issues.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau.
• Integrate BigQuery with Tableau for real-time analysis through efficient data source setup.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into visual analytics solutions.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with Google (GCP) Tools and Architecture
• Visualization Expert (Tableau preferred)
• Seasoned resource - This will be a lead role and need experience, good communication and creative ideas
