Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Electrician - Full Time Evenings 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM Monday-Friday - Plant Maint & Repair - Facility.
In this role, the successful candidate Under general supervision, installs, test, repairs and replaces electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using hand tools and testing instruments in order to supply electrical power for lighting and equipment operation for entire hospital. In doing so, observes functioning of installed equipment to detect electrical hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement. Performs any and all other duties as directed by Engineering Management/Leadership whether of an emergent nature or otherwise and assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Applies analytical skills to determine cause and resolution of malfunctioning motors and motor control circuits.
- Diagnose, repair and maintain lighting circuits and components throughout the facility.
- Maintains electrical distribution circuits by repairing or replacing failed or faulted components as needed.
- The ability to use and interrupt electrical meters and testing equipment when diagnosing electrical anomalies.
- The ability to diagnose and repair electrically operated equipment throughout the facility.
- Capable of diagnosing and repairing data and communication systems and components.
- Diagnose, repair and maintain fire alarm system and intrusion alarm systems and their connected components.
- Responsible for maintaining Emergency Electrical Distributions Systems consisting of generators, transfer switches, breakers and branch circuits.
- Coordinates with outside contractors and facility personnel when arranging and scheduling electrical testing or repairs.
- Conducts preventive maintenance tasks associated with the electrical industry as assigned by supervisory staff.
- Maintains and inventory of electrical supplies to meet the anticipated need of the facility.
- Design new additions to electrical distribution systems meeting NFPA codes and requirements.
- Requisition supplies and materials necessary to complete new projects.
- Completes new installation projects using tools, supplies and equipment appropriate for the particular application (pipe benders, boxes, conduit cable, fittings).
- Test all new installations to ensure proper voltage, polarity, phasing, ground integrity and proper operation of newly installed equipment.
- Ability to prioritize work requests.
- Communicate with requestor or area supervisor regarding repairs needed, job progress and completion of all work requests.
- At beginning of each shift, communicate with maintenance foreperson regarding the day agenda and goals.
- Organize work cart with supplies and materials needed to complete assignments to minimize return trips to shop for supplies.
- Follow safe operation guidelines of all equipment used for ground maintenance (snow blowers, tractor with plow, grass cutting equipment, etc.).
- Maintains cleanliness, safety and ascetic qualities of all hospital grounds and building (trash removal and cleaning of break areas, walkways and parking lots).
- Informs supervisory staff of problems with equipment to ensure repair or replacement of equipment is expedited before conditions require it to be used again.
- Assists the Engineering Department with the process of snow/ice removal when necessary.
- Maintains a safe work environment in and out of department by cleaning up area when jobs are complete.
- Responds to service calls and completes paperwork upon job completion.
- Performs minor equipment repair.
- Assembles furniture and equipment following manufacturer instruction manuals as required.
- Maintains work equipment by repairing/reporting damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately when discovered.
- Repairs patient related equipment including but not limited to beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, IV poles, etc.
- Performs any and all duties as directed by engineering management whether of an emergent nature or otherwise and assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
- Complete daily time report at the end of each shift.
- Complete purchase orders. Maintains records of material ordered, received and returned.
- Thoroughly describes actions taken/or additional actions needed on each work order or PM ticket.
- Maintains and documents required preventive maintenance testing results and ensures and documents that corrective actions for any deficiencies found during testing are complete.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
High School Diploma or equivalency required, Associates preferred.
Minimum 5 years job related experience.
Ability to stand/walk for an entire 7.5 hour shift.
Analytical skills necessary to determine cause and resolution of electrical related problems and installations.
Working knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NFPA 70) and the ability to use code book as a reference guide when necessary.
