Essential Job Duties
The department is looking for a part-time employee to help with essential business functions and everyday department needs. This position will report directly to the department's Business Services Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Entering journal vouchers and inter-departmental transfers and submitting invoices for payment
  • Serve as the department p-card receipt uploader and reconciler. They will work with the employees of the department to make sure all information and documentation is collected and uploaded prior to monthly deadlines. Assist employees with marketplace orders, travel authorizations and reimbursements, personal reimbursements, and serve as the point of contact for prior authorization forms
  • Assist with account monitoring and reconciliation duties
  • Other duties as assigned, including special projects

Work Schedule M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (20 hours per week) Hybrid

Minimum Experience/Education
At least one year of experience in accounting, finance, procurement, or a related administrative role
Department Required Skills

  • Ability to manage time and workflow efficiently
  • Proficient and timely oral and written communication is necessary
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Experience working within a university setting
  • P-card reconciliation
  • Knowledge of state and federal spending guidelines, University budget rules, purchase guidelines, and knowledge of NC State's systems and processes such as PeopleSoft and WRS reports
