Lead Cloud Developer

Position Description
Will provide cloud programming and software engineering in support of theNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Duties include:

• Design, improve and implement containerization architecture (Kubernetes)
• Optimize management and orchestration tasks to support integration processing pipelines utilizing Kubernetes / Microservices
• Define strategy, design and implement multi-team/multi-branch development using Gitlab
• Work with architects to translate user stories/business requirements int well-designed integration solutions
• Participate in technical design sessions and develop detailed technical solution documentation and SOPs
• Provide detailed estimates for assigned tasks

Required Skills
7+ years of relevant experience.

• Deep knowledge and expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Lambda and Python
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana and Metricbeat
• Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badgeto access applicable government facilities/systems.

Education
BS in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent. MS preferred.

Location
This position is located on-site at NSOF in Suitland, MD. Some telework may be permitted.

Salary
The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $275,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including the location, scope, and associated responsibilities of the specific position, as well as a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
