THE ROLE

We're looking for a Consulting Manager who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Consulting Manager (which is an Manager level position) this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues. In addition to enabling consulting excellence through the Five Pillars of Consulting, the specific requirements for this position are below.

Within the Consulting group is our Post-Merger Integration Advisory practice, which assists the Fortune 2000 in developing a competitive advantage for their organizations by strategically aligning IT with business objectives and emerging industry needs. Specifically, we are looking for a Consulting Manager to join us in a leadership role on our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating: Leading Scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Coaching: Helping teams improve their maturity and productivity
  • Removing obstacles: Identifying and removing impediments that prevent the team from meeting their goals
  • Supporting: Helping the team achieve their goals through self-organization and self-management
  • Representing: Representing the team at regular "Scrum of Scrums"
  • Improving: Supporting the improvement of the release train's overall performance
  • Working with others: Working with the Product Owner and Development teams to identify technical solutions and process improvements
  • Monitoring: Using reporting tools to monitor the progress of the portfolio delivery
  • Organizing: Organizing team-building activities to build trust
  • Encouraging: Encouraging open communication and conflict management strategies
  • Instructing: Instructing teams on how to provide and receive feedback
  • Guiding: Guiding teams with powerful questions
  • Ensuring: Ensuring the team has working agreements or a Team Charter

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in participating in PI Planning
  • 5+ years of experience working within a DevOps environment with expertise in infrastructure-as-code and understanding of software/application development
  • 5+ years expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCE, OpenStack, VMWare, etc.) and Linux/Windows operating systems
  • Enhances or develops processes and procedures that contribute to effective consulting (e.g., prioritizing backlogs, managing dependencies, developing tasks, validating solution stories)
  • Based on experience, orchestrates the expertise required to deliver complex solutions seamlessly (internal, acquired companies, partners / alliances)
  • Demonstrates consulting skills, e.g.: Support the definition of stories and tasks to deliver on project/sprint goals; support the running of Agile ceremonies
  • Continues the training and certification essential for consulting effectiveness
  • Personal leadership and a desire to create a culture that enables exceptional outcomes
  • Reviews project deliverables across workstreams from the perspective of QA, requirements alignment, and solution integration
  • Works directly with clients as an engagement lead to validate and leverage project success as the basis both for reinforcing positive client relationships and stimulating pull-through or repeat business
  • Experience working in client facing roles interacting with key stake holders to lead the engagement and manage the team and all expected outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of the DevOps philosophy and Agile methods
  • Experience of the full software delivery lifecycle
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment at different client sites
  • Consulting experience highly preferred
  • Personal leadership and a desire to create a culture that enables exceptional outcomes

Work Authorization

Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $81,450-129,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
