In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. What we're looking for
Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience) is required Experience: 1 - 2 years of inventory management, material handling and/or chemical handling experience is required Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred Inventory management experience is helpful but not required. Strong attention to detail. Reliable with excellent communication skills. Professional demeanor and ability to work independently or within a team. Willingness to undergo training for the role. Must wear provided steel-toe shoes while on duty.
How you will thrive and create an impact Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
Supervise and manage daily deliveries and garment exchanges. Adhere to strict dress code: No makeup, jewelry, or rings. Replace used garment carts with fresh ones and ensure they are restocked for the next exchange. Organize, stock, and maintain materials in the garment room. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling garments to prevent contamination. Ensure stockrooms are fully stocked at all times. Inspect used garments for any damages before shipment. Collect and record usage data at the point of use using a handheld scanner. Receive incoming shipments from carriers and verify the contents. Perform daily inventory checks and monitor soil bins to avoid overflow. Act as the main point of contact for garment-related issues or concerns. Manage inventory, including receiving stockroom orders, conducting 3-point quality checks, sorting materials, and delivering them to designated areas, as well as organizing dock inventory. Accurately record and communicate information to both internal and external teams. Follow and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize inventory management systems.
