About the Role

The Receptionist position serves as the first point of contact for the company with visitors and customers. The position requires that an individual be skilled in outstanding customer service, communication skills, professional in their demeanor and ability to prioritize tasks in order to be able to direct the flow of visitors, phone calls, emails and appointments. The position provides administrative and clerical support with occasional special projects.

What You Will Do

  • Answer, screen, and forward any incoming calls, and facilitate inquiries while providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain and update campus phone directory.
  • Northridge Campus newsletter: draft some of the content/design while also receiving entries from different groups to edit/consolidate into newsletter; send to HR for final approval
  • Greet visitors/vendors with a warm and welcoming attitude, assist with questions and direct them as needed.
  • Receive building issues from employees and notify facilities or security personnel; notify applicable personnel when food has arrived for conferences, etc.
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as scanning, filing, photocopying, as well as sorting and shredding files.
  • Fill out Fed Ex, UPS and DHL labels for employees shipping packages and next day envelopes to other sites or companies.
  • Maintain office supply inventory.
  • Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers.
  • Operate letter-stamping machine for mailing letters and large envelopes.
  • Maintain seating chart for campus; partner with HR for space allocation issues.
  • Reserve conference room for new hire orientation.
  • New hire desk set up: create nameplate, ensure proper assets are set up (IT equipment, chair, etc.) and area is clean.
  • Assist HR/Executive Assistants with ad-hoc tasks and/or special projects.

What You Need

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year direct administrative experience.
  • Familiarity with postal services (i.e., USPS, UPS, & Fed-X).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel).
  • Computer literate and internet savvy.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional attitude at all times.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Transparency
$ 36,000 - $ 52,800
Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
