Job Description
Pay Rate $30/hour Monday-Friday / 2pm-10pm La Jolla Location Great Perks and Benefits Allied Universal is hiring a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Supervisor. The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Supervisor is responsible for providing primary and secondary service support at a growing and fast-paced biotech company. GSOC Operators will provide support in the areas of Security and Fire Alarm System Monitoring, Local EMS, Access Control, CCTV Monitoring, Global Threat Management, Travel Security and Mass/Local Communications. The GSOC Supervisor will supervise the GSOC operators that fulfill all general intake responsibilities and must demonstrate flexibility, openness to change and ideas, and the highest levels of initiative, leadership and professionalism. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize best practices to identify, analyze, and support all incidents that are either impactful or potentially impactful to business, the brand and or employees. Serve as leader for the GSOC and the GSOC Operators. Conduct reviews/after action reports and distribute information accordingly to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and response.
Be able to lead a team n a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of responsibility and ability to handle confidential information Supervise and coordinate the effective response to incidents that occur on Company premises globally or events using appropriate communication methodology, including but not limited to: telephone, satellite phone, email, text message, video, third-party relay, radio, or pager. Response may be to medical emergencies, intrusion, fire, or duress alarms and other events or needs. Supervise, operate and monitor computer workstations and emergency systems; administer and maintain process control systems and databases used within the operations center. Ensure the management of a high volume of calls per shift while maintaining composure and demonstrating exceptional customer service skills Train operators to review, analyze and escalate open source intelligence and subscription based intelligence to help mitigate and report global threats to company property, employees, and stakeholders. Train operators to support tactical open source monitoring efforts during special events, security incidents, disasters and other crises on a global basis Ensure all operators are capable of monitoring Company travelers abroad and able to account for travelers during crisis events. At Company direction, may provide liaison with law enforcement, fire department, or industrial and civil emergency response organizations related to emergencies on Company property. Receive, evaluate and disseminate incoming information and reports from Company security personnel, security officers in the field, Company employees, suppliers, reporting parties, and local agencies. Analyze threats and envision potential or real-time impact to stakeholders, clients, properties or assets, with the ability to develop or implement quick responses or mitigation strategies. Utilize and display above average critical thinking skills, in times of high stress with sometimes undefined processes and procedures. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and composure in a fast-paced environment. Communicate out-of-the-ordinary or abnormal conditions to Company's security personnel, management, employees and suppliers, Facilities organization, Environmental Health and Safety organization, repair companies, and security officers in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- Comfortable with high-tech, fast-paced work environment and constant learning of new tools and innovations.
- Experience leading a team, preferably of technical operators
- Ability to articulate and communicate written and verbal communications to an executive audience on a consistent basis.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, International Affairs/Relations/Business, Emergency Management, Political Science, Criminal Justice or related discipline preferred.
- Experience in public, private, or military fields of communications, dispatch, or intelligence analysis is desirable but not required.
- Bilingual candidates are highly sought, but not mandatory.
- Experience with security systems, including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, mass notification systems, travel security tracking software, open source intelligence databases and CCTV.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of working in a Security Operations Center or closely related operation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Prior experience supervising or managing a Security Operations Center, Security Communications Center, security/alarm monitoring center or other closely related call center environment
- Military experience
- College degree in management, criminal justice, or related field of study
