Job Purpose:

Technical Lead for complete automobile customer usage verification at the proving grounds in Ohio, California, and Minnesota responsible for the identification of new technology priorities for verification, development and implementation of strategies to identify and promote quality issues to design, manufacturing or purchasing as a result of the verification, and approve countermeasures and verification test methods for respective North America developed New Models.

Key Accountabilities:



  • Identify and Lead promotion of priority quality concerns with the responsible divisions, and update or develop new testing methods and procedures with global operations.
  • Approval of verification results including sign-off of issuance and closure of Problem Reports, and test methods, including direction for path forward.
  • Implement and approve strategy for verification planning and reporting by identifying and studying New Model weak points based on past warranty, recalls, or new technology.
  • Approve the implementation of tools, processes, or procedures required to identify and analyze quality issues.
  • Develop team member's Technical Know How through technical leadership and mentoring related to analysis skills and methodology of problem investigation and countermeasure promotion.
  • Lead or participate in Unit, Department, or Business Unit level Business Themes.



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, electrical technology, mechanical engineering, or relevant work experience
  • 8+ years Quality engineering experience, based on amount of education
  • Analytical, communication, reporting skills; vehicle/job process knowledge



Working Conditions:



  • Local travel between plants/buildings on Ohio's campus is required
  • Periodic, required Japan Travel for business and technology correlation activities
  • Periodic, required travel to respective Proving Grounds in sometimes extreme temperatures in support of verification
  • Special Themes or assignments for projects may require short infrequent international/domestic travel
  • Expected 2-8 hours overtime per week as needed
  • Hands-on driving, part removal and replacement, and data equipment set-up to support analysis on a frequent basis
