JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Cleveland Controller

JOB SUMMARY:

Exciting role providing AR/AP support, Labor utilization, and other general accounting support for the Pursuit Aerospace Cleveland location. Primary responsibilities include analyzing/reporting labor utilization metrics to management, supporting annual physical inventories, and end of month inventory reconciliations. This role will support weekly/monthly accounting activities such as, generating payroll journal entries, posting subledgers, miscellaneous reconciliations and other journal entries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare, analyze and report labor utilization and elaborate opportunities to site leadership.
  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units in order to track the organization's progress against financial goals.
  • Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities.
  • Prepare reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization's financial position.
  • Reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.
  • Assist finance with management of corporate credit card program for the site.
  • Ensure compliance with any relevant external reporting requirements (i.e.1099's or sales tax audits).
  • Support the monthly closing process by preparing and entering Journal Entries (Payroll, depreciation, accruals, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field.
  • Experience with Excel is required, knowledge of Pivot tables and formulas desired.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and implementing bar raising improvements within company.
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethics in all activities.
  • Experience with Epicor Manufacturing ERP system or other ERP Systems.
  • 10-25% of travel may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical thinker, advanced problem solving.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Inventory is a plus.
  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of product knowledge across all business lines.
  • Strong decision-making, multi-tasking and execution abilities under tight deadlines
  • Customer centric mentality, with ability to anticipate customer/supplier needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Working conditions typically include both office and shop floor environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Lifting up to 20-30 lbs. may be occasionally required.
